engr Official Homework Format | | HW Format - Homework will be collected promptly at the beginning of the class on the due date.
- Homework must be prepared in the format shown in Illustrations One and Two.
- Homework must be done on engineering paper (available at Thompson’s bookstore).
- Homework must be done on one side of the paper (the one with the faint lines).
- Homework must be done in pencil.
- You must follow the five-step organization shown below:
- Statement of the problem and what is required.
- Sketch of the problem.
- Diagrams required for solution of the problem (e.g. a free-body diagram, vector triangle, etc…).
- Equations and solutions: It is not sufficient to write numbers in equation form – the basic equation must be given first.
- The answer must be presented to completely define the problem requirement. It must be set apart from the calculations and emphasized by a surrounding box or underlining.
The homework must be stapled in the upper left-hand corner and folded lengthwise. Last name followed by first name, and the problem numbers will be written on the back of the homework on the folded side with the punched holes (see Illustrations One and Two). Illustration 1 Illustration 2 |
