engr1111 Intro to Engineering Homework // Fall 2003 | | Here are the Homework Assignments for engr1111 Intro to Engineering. |
HW#6 | | Homework Six is due by Tuesday November 18, 2003. One assignment per team should be turned in that includes an algorithm for a robot to follow a line (width of two strips of black electrical tape). You should assume that one (1) and only one light sensor is available to guide your robot. You do not nee d details of the construction or appearance of the robot, but focus on steps (program) you will need to follow to make the robot follow the line. You should have as many details of various situations that may occur as possible. |
HW#5 | | Homework Five is due by class-time (noon) on Tuesday November 11, 2003. These seaches should be completed for the Max Chambers Library on the UCO campus. Go here to get to the UCO library web-site. - Complete one search for a book concerning a physics or engineering topic of your choice.
- Complete one search for a book concerning any topic of your choice.
- Complete one search for a journal that would contain a physics or engineering article of interest to you.
Turn in the following for each of the three items above: - The topic of interest to you.
- Print out of the search terms entered by the student.
- Print out of the items that match your search terms.

HW#4 | | Homework Four is due by class-time (noon) on Tuesday October 14, 2003. Here are the team assignments and the schedule sheet. Part A (due at the end of class on Sept. 30, 2003) Come up the concept for a a device that can measure the viscosity of fluids with values in the range from 10-4 – 0.1 (N-s)/m2. The device should measure viscosity to a precision of +/- 10-5 (N-s)/m2. At the end of class each group should turn in the fol lowing (please label each turned in sheet with team number and members along with the date): - A hand drawn sketch of the conceptual device.
- Evidence that you did each of the following:
- Researched what viscosity is.
- Name some fluids that fall in the range that is desired.
- Brainstormed possible ideas.
- Decided on the basic concept.
Part B (due in class on October 14, 2003) A technical drawing of the device (hand drawings are OK if done neatly). Materials list and basic costs of the materials required to build it. Construction Plan for building the device – what steps and equipment would need to be used with the material you have specified.
One additional constraint: You need to be able to see into the device to observe flow patterns. |
HW#3 | | Homework Three is due by class-time (noon) on Tuesday September 9, 2003. Please go to the Club Participation Survey page to complete Homework#3. |
HW#2 | | Homework Two is due by class-time (noon) on Tuesday September 2, 2003. Please go to the Academic Bio Survey page to complete Homework#2. |
